It Feels Like Spring!

We've had some lovely weather today and decided to have a cook-out with a few friends!
I'm really excited as we have a brand new grill to break-in and haven't seen everyone in awhile with all our busy schedules...

Here's what we're having tonight (click for the recipes):
Moroccan Salad with store-bought flatbread or pitas
(toasted on the grill, yum!)

These recipes and more can be found on my other blog, Surviving the Kitchen, it was around way before this one was even thought of and is home to many recipes, menu plans, and this week there is a post about a great giveaway Jen is having! Check it out! :)

Hope yall are having a great weekend too!

Five Question Friday: March 26th

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS?
Tool Time...? um no, but Mama M is proud to present...
My Little Life
I know you wanna play along, I promise it's a lot of fun! Just copy and paste the following questions on your blog and answer them. Then head on over to Mama M.'s to link up with everyone else!

Questions for Friday, March 26th:

1. Did you pass your driver's test on the first try?
Yep, I took driver's-ed over the summer and our teacher was some football coach at another school, he was so much fun. We would drive to Arby's or Wendy's and get a snack then switch drivers. Never had to parallel park, evidently it's not required anymore in Florida. Which is super strange because almost any beach has parallel parking... Our class finished the day before my 16th birthday so all I had to do is go hand the guy my slip and take a picture :) A
2. What is your most embarrassing moment?
This one is easy, I played softball sophomore year in high school for the JV team. I had played in middle school one season, but grew up with the boys in my family playing baseball so I knew what I was doing (or so I thought). I was up to bat at for the a couple innings into the game, I guess I wasn't paying attention because right before it was my turn they had switched pitchers. Here I am, all ready to go and I see the first pitch, I had a base hit to third, well I started running and realized nobody was moving. I slowed down to realize that I had hit the ball on a practice pitch, and it didn't even count. I was super embarrased and of course my friends couldn't stop talking or laughing about it.
3. What TV show would you like to be on- Oprah, Biggest Loser, or What Not to Wear?
What Not to Wear, I would love a waredrobe makeover and a new hair style. Plus did you see my post yesterday? I'm sure they would help me get rid of all those old clothes hanging out in my closet!
4. Would you ever get plastic surgery and what kind?
I always wanted to fix my nose, its a tad crooked from a fight with a hallway or doorframe, but now I'm kinda fine with how I am :)
5. What are your favorite jeans to wear?
Serfontaine, I've had two pairs from when a boutique store in my hometown carried them. One is 5 years old and still looks brand new! They are kinda pricey but so worth it. My backup brand is Guess? because you can't go wrong. I've been rocking Guess Jeans my whole life, I've seen pictures-haha.

That's all folks, now it's your turn! I wanna see your answers :)

Top 3 Thursday: Horders

.

Top Three Thursdays
An easy and really fun blog carnival hosted by Confessions From a Working Mom and The (Un)Experienced Mom, come on and play along!

This week's Question is:
What are the Top 3 things you should have thrown away... like, yesterday?

3)  College Notes & High School Assignments. I have a file for every class I took that are all neat and organized by section. My younger brother has taken some of the same classes so the notes, old test, assignments and books came in handy for him while we were both in college. But since I've graduated I doubt he's going to have the same professors or even the same books so there's no point in these notes hiding out in the closet of the guest room. Speaking of books, why did I keep all the textbooks that didn't get bought back is beyond me. Like I'm going to use Sociology I or Business Calculus ever again.

2) Old electronic stuff. We have computer monitor and a old vhs combo tv hiding in our laundry room. Not to mention the computer tower and broken printer in the guest bedroom closet. I did sell a old fax on craigslist, then posted a old tv as a curb alert, so I am making progress. Maybe I will finally put that broken blender to the trash along with the broken drink mixer, I keep thinking they will fix themselves.

1) Clothes that are in my closet at my parents' house, why on earth I have clothes from highschool hiding out there is beyond me. I have every formal dress, homecoming dress, and prom dress. All those t-shirts for football games, cheerleading, senior shirts, and class pride. Plus a few random Abercrombie and Holister shorts that are wayyy too short for me to even be thinking of attempting to wear. Oh and I probably should get rid of the clothes hiding out in our guest bedroom that I haven't worn in forever... but maybe those will come back in style....

Wishful Wednesday

It's that time again, Kelsey just posted this week's Wishful Wednesday topic:

'I wish' .... I could afford ______ handbag without putting a dent in my pocketbook!

If money grew on trees, I hit the jackpot at the slots, or won the lottery...

I would love love love to have this beautiful Balenciaga purse.

It's only $$2,045

or if that can't be arranged, I'll settle for this Yves Saint Laurent bag.

You can purchase the Medium Downtown Buffalo for the low, low, low price of $1,695

hey, a girl can dream -or in this case wish! :)

If you could have any purse, no matter what the price, what would you pick?

Top 2 Tuesday...Can't Live Without

This week is, Top 2 is Things You Can't Live Without

1) Chapstick. I have an addiction, a bad one.

2) My Chi. I love my hair straightner.

It's a pretty one, I've never seen one like it :)

I used to have the original, it died, then I had one that was stolen when I had a party in college.

Who steals hair straightners?!

This one was a Christmas present. It's sparkly.

It makes my wavy-curly hair straight and pretty :)

Head on Over to Taylor's blog, The Undomestic Momma to see what everyone else picked for their Top 2 things they can't live without, some of them are quite interesting! :)

Post It Note Tuesday!

I'm all about trying new things this week and since like 5 of the people I follow participate in it, I just had to try it... Yeh I'm following the trend, and I think you should too! :)

Friend Makin' Monday: Springtime!

I saw this on Krystal's blog and wanted to join in on the fun!
Friend Makin' Monday was started by Amber and you can head here to find some other fun answers and some amazing new friends!
Here's the questions for this week:

1. Favorite things about Spring: sunshine & longer days, warm weather, everything looks pretty (flowers, green grass, trees are alive again), keeping my windows open for that spring breeze, flip-flops & pedicures, beach trips, nice weekends at the lake, finally being able to lay out by the pool

2. What I'm doing for Spring Break: No spring breaks for me anymore, unless I go to grad school or switch professions and become a teacher. It's my first year outta college and I'm so envious of my friends and brother, (oh and my mom-she's a teacher) who all get to go or already went on spring break.

3. Favorite Spring flower: I love the blooms on dogwood trees, so pretty. And Tulips, they just scream springtime to me.

4. Do you have a garden?: Not this year, yet.

5. If so, what do you grow?: I plan on having a small veggie garden and a few flowers up by the front entry area.

6. Do you do Spring cleaning?: I plan on going through my closet and donating or having a clothing exchange with a few girlfriends, we did it last year and it was so much fun.

7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it's "officially" spring, doesn't mean that it feels like it for some of you}: It's around 60 degrees, sunny with a a few clouds and a very cold breeze...

8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us!: Not yet, it's been really gloomy, rainy and cold recently, but thankfully I think the Florida weather is coming back soon.

9. What's your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon?: spend it outside, either relaxing with a cool drink and reading a book or magazine or working in the yard.

10. Favorite TV show right now?: I love HGTV, except I'm about over all the 'sell my house'/restaging shows (haha), Desperate Housewives (I've been a fan since the beginning) AND I know it's trashy reality but Real Housewives
