Living in Florida makes you well aware of hurricanes and potential storms in our vicinity. But my problem isn't with storms it's with... the weatherman.
This is what's going on today storm-wise:

I'm not by any means a hurricane expert but I have experienced my far share of them. I survived the year of hurricanes that wreaked havoc on Florida in fall of 2004, have gone to more hurricane parties than I can count, and have probably missed at least a month of classes/school due to hurricane. I've lived in Florida my whole life but the rest of my family lives in Mississippi and Louisiana, yes that's right my entire family is in hurricane territory, we're no strangers to destruction and thankfully haven't been severely effected by any of the major hurricanes that have ventured into our cities.
But no matter how many hurricanes I experience or track online, I've never understood why weatherman are so excited about a hurricane coming. Seriously, what is good about a hurricane? Heavy rainfall? High winds? Storm surge? Oh yes dear weatherman these are all things that are wonderful and we would love to have happen to us.... um thanks but I'll pass! Nothing is good about a hurricane except for maybe a day off work. Today while watching the weather channel and the people on the weather channel were uber excited about the three storms out in the Atlantic. Hurricanes are like crack for weatherpeople. Well as the segment progressed, I was shocked to hear this..."hurricane igor was an almost perfect, beautiful hurricane." He was talking about how the hurricane was formed of course but still, a hurricane beautiful, I can't agree with that at all.
So my question for yall is do you think a hurricane is beautiful?
