Five Question Friday: April 23rd

Time for 5QF! Here's the rules, copy the questions and answer them on your blog then link back up over at Mama M's place and check out everyone elses answers!

Questions for Friday, April 23rd:

1. What was the first car you owned?
96 Saturn SC2-twincam, I have a picture somewhere
(when I get home from work I'll post it)
She was a pretty little fast thing! :) But she was in my parent's name even though I was the only one who drove her, so was my Mustang I had in college. I guess my Acura is the first car I've owned if you wanna be specific, and I made all the negoiations by myself  :)

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?

3. Have you ever had stitches?
nope, but probably needed them a few times.

4. What was your first job?
Lifeguard at a waterpark for 3 summers. Best job ever! When I was there we had American Flag bathing suits, I remember drunk guys coming up and saying the pledge to me. I still have them in a box at my parent's house and my rescue pack. This is a current picture, they re-did the park and some of the rides that were my favorite were removed because they were too dangerous. Haha Those were the days :)

 5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Count Von Count :) I remember him from when I was younger.

Top 3 Thursday: Stores

Brought to you by Elizabeth and The (Un)Experienced Mom

Where are your Top 3 favorite places to shop?
 3) ONLINE
There's a lot of stores I love that aren't in my town or I'm just too busy to make it to the mall and my one way to shop is online. I love hitting up JCrew, Sephora, Forever 21 (their stores are too messy and unorganized but there website is way easier plus they are good about returns), Express, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and even Etsy.

2) TJ Maxx
TJ Maxx is only three redlights from my house and it's a well managed and organized store. I love what great finds that are avalible that you have to search for. The clearance aisles are your best friends, I got a really nice candle holder for the mantle that had a scratch on the corner and I got it for half off. The scratch wasn't even a scratch but a mark that came off with some greenworks, so you never know.
1) Tar-jay!
I love that store, have been a huge fan most of my life. My mom's a loyal Target shopper and it has rubbed off on me. They have the cutest clothes and houseware items plus everything in between. I recently got new bedding from there and I couldn't be happier with the quality!

What are your favorite stores?

Happy Earth Day!

Did you know that 40 years ago today was the first Earth Day ever!
A lot has changed with our Earth but there's some things we can do to help. Here's a few things I do to help curb my carbon footprint and help this planet we call home. (Find out your carbon footprint here)

Recycle!
I know you've been told this since grade school (remember the song?) It's a lot easier then you think and most cities have recycle cans just like trash cans so it's even easier for you. I have two trash cans in my kitchen one for cans & plastic (ours go together) and one for regular trash. It makes it easier for everyone to remember to recycle.
Buy Local
That can be either produce and products, in Tallahassee we have a group of locally businesses and services that encourage residents to shop local. You can visit them here, they have a cute slogan that is "Keep it sassy Tallahassee"
Bring Your Own Bags
They don't have to be special to that store either. Plus most reusable bags hold way more than most plastic bags so that means less trips from the car when you bring things in.

Do you have any Earth Day tips? Feel free to share them!

I'm Obsessed....

I gotta admit, I'm a tad obsessed with this new show I've found...

OPERATION REPO on TruTV check it out here
It's addicting, once you start watching it you are hooked!
It comes on Monday nights 8-10pm, new episode at 9:30pm and then again on Tuesdays, always different episodes! Watch this and I promise you're gonna wanna start repo-ing cars just to see the crazy people :)

TruTV has no idea that I love their show, ohh well! :)

Top 2 Tuesday...Fav items under $15

Top 2 items under $15
This is tough, two favorites under $15... umm okay I think I can do it.

1) Old Navy Cami $12.50 (but usually always on sale)
I've been buying these for as long as I can remember, easy to replace and plus they last a long time. I have just about every color, some in 2 colors! haha

2) Bath & Body Works Coconut Body Cream it's $10.50
My favorite scent, it reminds me of the beach! :)  They almost discontinued this but I'm so glad they didn't, I got really worried when the "coconut" was replaced with "coconut lime verbena" but thankfully they just renamed it "exotic coconut" for all us coconut lovers!
What's your favorite under $15 finds?
Head on over to Taylor's to link up! :)

I Have House Fever

I made a mistake this weekend, I went to a condo sale. I found the perfect condo complex with the cutest layout ever, and they were "on sale", seriously they advertised them as a 'one day only sale'. Yes, I was one of those people, along with a bunch of foreigners and older people. But boy did I make sure I got to see every single condo that I wanted too, and poor Adam was dragged along, I'm sure he loved it, haha. Sadly my options for the floor plan I liked were limited by there was one that I 'could live with' if I wanted too. I think I've watched enough shows on TLC, HGTV, and FineLiving to know what's a 'good deal' and what's a rip-off. So, after adding in all those condo fees, I'm not sure I really like this potential new place anymore. For the price I could probably find a house, one with a yard and a garage. So what do I do, I start looking at houses online. Now I've found some cute little houses, only you never know from looking online. For all I know it could be next to some power plant or have neighbors with those awful stone 'garden decorations', you know the ones with the giant concrete horse, eek! I think that would scare Gracie to death. Haha. So now I will begin the process of searching for a new place, my first house, but don't worry I'm not gonna get ahead of myself and buy the first thing I see, I mean this is a HOUSE, something you're stuck with for like, forever.

Anyone have any tips on house shopping, or any crazy stories about it?
