Top 2 Tips
(money saving tips, beauty tips, DIY tips, cooking tips, cleaning tips, blogging tips, shopping tips etc)
1) Clean-up as you cook
I always take the time to clean as I go, this was especially helpful when our dishwasher broke and we had to wash by hand. It's easy to let dishes pile up when you cook dinner but if you take the time to clean up as you go it's very rewarding in the end. It's nice to relax after dinner instead of worrying about that pile of dishes you have waiting for you.
2) Make a 'home' for everything in your house
When everything has a designated space it's easy to quickly clean up your house and makes it easier to find things. Make a specific spot for things and make sure to remember to put them there. It helps alot, we have a key hook for keys, bill/mail area, a basket for remotes, container for Wii and XBOX controlers, a basket for throw blankets, etc. I've even started to train the dogs to put their toys in 'their basket' but it's usually me who ends up picking it up but they do know that is where their toys are lol.

ReplyDeleteMy dishwasher has been broken for about 4 years now since the last time I had one was in my apartment pre-Joey. I miss one and have a spot picked out for it in our house. Just need the funds! Awesome tips - I need to work on having a place for everything especially as baby is coming!
ReplyDeleteMy mother taught me to clean as you go, especially when I bake/cook big things, I always do this, or when I am doing it before a party we are hosting!
ReplyDeleteWe have baskets galore in our house. I love baskets!! I'm slightly obsessed!! ha, ha! We also have a key nook, and mail basket!
I taught our lab to do the same thing!!! I think he has since forgotten bc he had some medical problems and he was in the vet hospital for a very long time, and is still recovereing in our basement. But in his glory days, I taught him that too, ha!

ReplyDeleteLove cleaning as I go... along those lines, I fold laundry as it comes out of the dryer. I hate having a huge pile to do all at once. Makes it much easier that way!

Clean up as you cook - if only I could learn to do that. I feel it would make my life so much easier! And eating more enjoyable because I wouldn't be worried about the mess waiting for me in the kitchen!
