I made a mistake this weekend, I went to a condo sale. I found the perfect condo complex with the cutest layout ever, and they were "on sale", seriously they advertised them as a 'one day only sale'. Yes, I was one of those people, along with a bunch of foreigners and older people. But boy did I make sure I got to see every single condo that I wanted too, and poor Adam was dragged along, I'm sure he loved it, haha. Sadly my options for the floor plan I liked were limited by there was one that I 'could live with' if I wanted too. I think I've watched enough shows on TLC, HGTV, and FineLiving to know what's a 'good deal' and what's a rip-off. So, after adding in all those condo fees, I'm not sure I really like this potential new place anymore. For the price I could probably find a house, one with a yard and a garage. So what do I do, I start looking at houses online. Now I've found some cute little houses, only you never know from looking online. For all I know it could be next to some power plant or have neighbors with those awful stone 'garden decorations', you know the ones with the giant concrete horse, eek! I think that would scare Gracie to death. Haha. So now I will begin the process of searching for a new place, my first house, but don't worry I'm not gonna get ahead of myself and buy the first thing I see, I mean this is a HOUSE, something you're stuck with for like, forever.
Anyone have any tips on house shopping, or any crazy stories about it?
House hunting is one of the most stressful times, but the most exciting at the same time!
ReplyDeleteBest tip I can give is wait for EXACTLY what you want (price and layout)...if there are things you need to fix and are willing to, make sure the price reflects that!
Also, know that nothing ever works out perfectly and take each day on-at-a-time!!
haha good luck!
i agree with shelby, wait for exactly what you want. we almost settled with one that i really would have regretted, luckily someone else placed an offer before we had a chance to! we're so glad we ended up in this house and not that one!
ReplyDeleteI think house shopping can be so fun, if you know what you are looking for! :)
ReplyDeleteOh goo luck take it slow and make sure every detail is in order if something feel funny it probably is if it sounds too good to be true run!
ReplyDeleteI have recently been struck with house fever too! I haven't taken the plunge as far as any open houses yet, but I look online almost every day!
